The cheapest and most beginner friendly selfie stick on the market today is the Insta360 114CM Invisible Selfie Stick. The closed length is 23cm and the open length is 114cm.
This selfie stick is great for casual action sports and travelling. It's light-weight and compact. The selfie stick is easy to use. Pull the selfie stick to open it and friction will hold the length of the selfie stick in place. Push the selfie stick down to close it.
But this selfie stick is not reliable for action sports. The tip (where the top of selfie stick attaches to camera) and base (where the bottom of selfie stick attaches to other camera accessories), are connected to the body of the selfie stick using glue. Extreme hot or cold weather can make the glue unsticky, therefore the selfie stick will break.
The handle of the selfie stick is not comfortable to hold over a long period of time. The handle is very hard because you are holding the aluminium body.

Use the Insta360 X3 Sticky Lens Guards as training wheels in the first month. Take it off when you are confident using the Insta360 X3 without damaging it!
Just note that the Insta360 X3 Sticky Lens Guards will degrade the video quality slightly. But I rather be safe than sorry.

The most reliable micro sd card for the Insta360 X3 is the Sandisk V30 series. I recommend using the Sandisk 256GB V30 Micro SD Card. 256GB will let you record 4 hours and 29 minutes of 5.7K30fps 360 video.
Be careful of fake Sandisk micro sd cards on the market. These will not work properly. Use the Amazon link provided to buy a genuine card.

An external microphone is worth it for interviews and vlogging. I approve of all Rode and DJI wireless microphones for the Insta360 X3. No matter which one you pick they all sound good.
Insta360 X3 Cold Shoe
To connect any Rode external microphone like the Rode Wireless ME, Rode Wireless GO, Rode Wireless GO II, Rode Wireless PRO, then you will need the Insta360 X3 Cold Shoe.
The Insta360 Cold Shoe will keep the Rode receiver invisible in the stitch line of the Insta360 X3. This Cold Shoe will only work for Rode external microphones only.

Insta360 X3 Fast Charging Hub
To keep your Insta360 X3 charged up throughout the day, I recommend the Insta360 X3 Fast Charging Hub and 2 spare Insta360 X3 batteries. A single Insta360 X3 battery will give you around 70-80 minutes recording time.
I have personally never gone through 3 batteries in a single day. It's plenty of power! I charge the 3 Insta360 X3 batteries at the same time using the Insta360 X3 Fast Charging Hub overnight, ready for the next day of adventure.
